International manufacturing business and recognised brand seeks a Legal Counsel to support the UK business legal requirements. You will work as the number 2 to the Legal Director and deputise in his absence.

 

Responsibilities

 

  • Reporting into the Legal Director as part of a small inhouse legal and compliance team
  • Advising the business on a broad range of legal issues including commercial contracts, company, corporate, property, litigation, and intellectual property matters.
  • Drafting, interpreting, advising, and negotiating commercial contracts including: terms and conditions, sponsorship agreements, licensing agreements and distribution agreements, etc
  • Assisting the Legal Director with Company Secretarial duties for the UK subsidiaries
  • Managing and liaising with legal counsel at group head office as well as external advisors
  • Supporting the Compliance Officer as and when required

 

We are looking for:

 

  • You will be a qualified solicitor with experience of working with commercial contracts
  • Preferably some inhouse exposure
  • A knowledge and understanding of corporate law and procedures is a benefit
  • Experience working directly with customers or in a manufacturing environment would be helpful
  • Outstanding communication skills and ability to build relationships
  • Pragmatic approach with enthusiasm to manage a varied caseload
  • Able to work self-sufficently
