As contract risk manager in the UK, your primary responsibility will be to work with and assist the company's business, legal and finance teams to ensure that the company's proposed sales and purchasing contracts have been properly evaluated for contractual, regulatory and compliance risks prior to signature.

Description

  • Review, negotiate, and manage commercial sales, construction and procurement contracts.
  • Negotiate amendments to standard construction and engineering contracts such as NEC, FIDIC and JCT plus non-standard customer contracts.
  • Ability to meet challenging deadlines and to build strong relationships with all internal stakeholders.
  • Attend regular meetings with the company's general counsel and global contract risk team to ensure a unified approach to contract risk management.
  • Refer all contract risk issues matters that may have an impact on contract or business risk from a financial, tax, accounting or legal standpoint to the Company's corporate finance and legal teams for guidance and support.
  • Ensure that all internal contract review and approval procedures are followed in line with legislation and the Company's internal policies.
  • Ensure that all contract documentation and related communications remain accessible to and auditable by the Company's internal and external auditors.
  • Ensure that all key contract documentation following signature is stored securely in the Company's central contracts repository.
  • Identify and refer any potential issues and disputes with contractual counter parties to the corporate legal team for guidance

Profile

* Significant experience in reviewing, negotiating, and managing commercial sales, construction and procurement contracts in a technical/similar industry.

* Experience of negotiating amendments to standard construction and engineering contracts such as NEC, FIDIC and JCT plus non-standard customer contracts

* Experience of strategic procurement and delivery

* Experience of providing commercial support and guidance to exports to overseas countries

* Extensive international contract law knowledge and experience with a good understanding of contract risk management and a solutions-oriented approach

* Experience of managing and implementing processes, projects and change initiatives

* Experience of negotiating large scale contracts within a complex and regulated environment
