I'm working on a fantastic opportunity for a qualified Solicitor to join a highly regarded firm with offices based in Newport and Cardiff.

The Role is a Public Law and Private Litigation Associate.

Client Details

The firm is known for it's high quality legal service and advice. The firm is made up of 100 strong and experienced and friendly solicitors and support staff.

There are offices in Newport and Cardiff, their wealth of knowledge and expertise covers all areas of the law, from conveyancing and personal injury, family law and wills & probate, clinical negligence and care, right through to commercial, employment law and dispute resolution.

Description

This role for a Public Law and Private Litigation Associate will involve:

Contributing to the Public Law and Private Litigation Department's expertise and the growth and reputation of the Department and Firm generally.

  • Whilst this role will predominantly require you to work on the Covid-19 UK Public Inquiry, you will also be required to assist the department with tasks on other matters as may be necessary from time to time.
  • From time to time to undertake visits to clients across primarily Wales, however occasionally the wider UK for the purpose of the Covid-19 UK Public Inquiry
  • From time to time to attend meetings and/or conferences and/or hearings at outside working hours for the purposes of the Covid-19 UK Public Inquiry.
  • To undertake not to share any information and/or data and/or detail regarding the UK Covid-19 Inquiry unless authorised to do so.

Profile

The successful Public Law and Private Litigation Associate will have the below experience:

  • Admission to the Solicitors Roll or equivalent
  • A knowledgeable, professional and confident approach to clients, in order to convey a true understanding of the client's needs and maintain their confidence.
  • Proven ability to manage your own caseload. To ensure that all client work is progressed expeditiously and to provide a profitable contribution to the work of the Department and Firm.
  • Ability to maintain excellent working relationships with not only the other personnel within the firm, but with external institutions and organisations.
  • A commitment to hard work.
  • Good commercial awareness.
