Our client is a high-end shipping and luxury assets boutique based in London and is looking to hire a junior to mid-level associate to support the growth of its well-regarded Yachts and Luxury Assets practice. With an impressive track record and a client base comprising high-net-worth individuals, family offices and other industry participants, the team have established themselves as leading players in the field.

Role and responsibilities

The successful candidate will work closely with the partners and play a pivotal role in the team, liaising directly with clients and handling both contentious and non-contentious matters related to yachts and luxury assets. Responsibilities will include:

  • Advising clients on a wide range of legal issues, including purchase and sale agreements, financing, leasing, registration, and ownership structures.
  • Negotiating and drafting contracts, agreements, and other legal documents pertaining to yacht and luxury asset transactions.
  • Assisting clients in resolving disputes through negotiation, mediation, arbitration, or litigation, when necessary.
  • Conducting thorough legal research and staying up to date with relevant industry developments and regulations.
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients, fostering trust and ensuring client satisfaction.

Requirements

To be considered for this exceptional opportunity, you must possess the following qualifications and skills:

  • Qualified lawyer with a minimum of 1 year of post-qualification experience.
  • Specialisation in yachts and luxury assets, with a solid understanding of the legal complexities surrounding this niche area.
  • Excellent academic background and stable career record.
  • Ideally experience handling both contentious and non-contentious matters related to the yachts and luxury assets industry.
  • Strong analytical, research, and drafting skills, coupled with a keen eye for detail.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, enabling you to build rapport with clients and work effectively within a dynamic team.
