About the Education Paralegal Role:

Sellick Partnership are proud to be working with an exceptional shared legal services team in the heart of the South East. We are looking for an Education Paralegal to join a large alternative business structure operating on behalf of public Sector Clients which includes local government. This is an exciting opportunity to join a large shared service arrangement which prides itself on being one of the market leaders for undertaking public sector work in the East Midlands and South East.

Using a 'virtual' legal office, the organisation seamlessly deploy the capacity of their entire team to support all of their clients, wherever they are based. Having obtained and maintained LEXCEL accreditation, the Law Society's quality mark, their team ensures a level of resilience which is not deliverable within smaller teams. They are also excellent value for money - a key factor in their expansion.

Key Responsibilities of the Education Paralegal role:

  • Assisting a team of Lawyers and act as a point of contract on a variety of cases, to include but not limited to, taking instructions and giving advice, carrying out research, preparing applications, drafting documents and correspondence, commissioning and instructing expert witnesses, liaising with witnesses, attending meetings and providing advice and representation in courts or tribunals
  • Managing a case load comprising mainly SEN Tribunal cases and to clerk school admission and exclusion appeals, ensuring awareness of safeguarding responsibilities, compliance with statutory duties and obligations and to protect the best interest of the client organisations
  • Making a positive contribution to the Adult Social Care & Litigation Service and contribute to the development, training or mentoring of colleagues where required

The role will be a hybrid working arrangement and you will have the opportunity to work from 1 of their 3 offices in central Northampton, Bedford or Cambridge up to 2 days per week.
