Senior Housing Lawyer

Salary: £47,573 - £48,587 per annum

Location: Greater Manchester

Sellick Partnership are proud to be working with an excellent legal services team in the heart of Greater Manchester. We are looking for a Senior Housing Lawyer to join the Commercial Regulatory Housing and Litigation Legal Team to provide advice and representation in all areas of housing and regulatory law.

Key duties of the Senior Housing Lawyer:

As housing and regulatory lawyer, you will be primarily responsible for providing strategic, statutory and operational housing advice to the Council (and its ALMO) in its functions as social landlord and Local Housing Authority, including homelessness, allocations, private sector regulation, housing management including handling litigation relating to anti-social behaviour, possession proceedings, injunctions and disrepair In addition, you will supervise the work of junior members of staff as and when required.

You will be an integral part of a professional legal team delivering legal advice and support to all aspects of the Council's services, you will be a positive and highly motivated person who is confident, versatile and innovative.

Ideal requirements of the Senior Housing Lawyer:

The ideal candidate will have previous experience dealing with local authority and social housing matters and have well-developed communication skills both written and verbal. The ability to communicate effectively with officers internally, and externally with courts, barristers, professional bodies, and members of the public is essential.

Local government experience is desirable, but we welcome applications from people from all parts of the legal sector. This is a fantastic opportunity for an established lawyer with a good understanding of housing and regulatory law to join a progressive organisation and diversify their skillset and experience. You will be a qualified Solicitor/Barrister/FILEX with a current Practising Certificate.
