Catastrophic Injury / Large Loss - Paralegal or Litigation Executive - This is a highly regarded Legal 500-ranked team which undertakes a range of complex work from severe head and spinal injury work to amputations and fatalities.

Overview

  • Job Title: Paralegal / Legal Executive / Litigation Executive
  • Location: Manchester
  • Salary: £22,000 - £27,000
  • Work pattern: Hybrid working
  • Reports to: Partner
  • Expertise: Good understanding of the litigation process. The team specialises in RTA work so RTA experience would be ideal, though EL/PL experience will be considered.

Work with experienced Legal Director on range of complex RTA-related matters

This role represents an excellent opportunity to develop expertise whilst working alongside some of the best large loss lawyers in the country. In particular, this role involves working with a Legal Director. The high-value and complex nature of these matters means, they will set strategy and lead on each matter. The successful candidate's role will be in a supporting capacity. Responsibilities will include:

  • Drafting court documents including witness statements;
  • Requesting and analysing medical records;
  • Preparing trial bundles;
  • Analysing surveillance evidence;
  • Investigating complex liability, causation and quantum (depending on your experience).

Building your catastrophic injury experience further

As your experience grows, you will carry out more tasks such as developing your advocacy experience. Paralegals within the team also instruct counsel and experts as well as draft witness statements and prepare disclosure lists of own evidence and review third party disclosure. You will also attend client meetings and be a fully valued member of the team.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a paralegal or litigation executive with sound understanding of the litigation process to gain valuable exposure assisting catastrophic injury lawyers on complex matters from £100K to £1m and beyond.
