Funds Lawyer (5+PQE)

The Opportunity

This international top-tier law firms Financial Services team undertakes technical and complex financial services and markets regulatory work for asset and wealth managers, banking groups, brokerage houses, investment exchanges, commodity traders, general insurance and life assurance companies and other financial institutions operating in the UK and international financial markets. Their funds and financial services regulatory teams are recognised for both technical excellence and outstanding commerciality in connection with a wide range of global structuring, investment and service development projects.

They have expert lawyers in fund formation, financial services regulation, trading documentation (including prime brokerage and derivatives documentation), corporate structuring and transactions, litigation, taxation, ICT and employment regulation. The Role

The firm are recruiting for a Managing/Supervising Associate to play an integral part in their FS Funds (Hedge Funds) team. The ideal candidate will be 5+PQE with good exposure to investment management products and services, primarily in the hedge fund space, although applications from lawyers outside of this range are also encouraged successful candidate will split their time across open-ended hedge funds work with a focus on hedge fund formation. There may also be some IMA/SMA negotiation work for institutional managers. Some knowledge of related regulation, including AIFMD and MiFID and other sectoral regulation, will be required. The candidate will be expected to take an active role in advising clients on new and developing initiatives, including the AIFMD Review, ESG and the post-Brexit landscape.
