We are seeking to recruit an Adult Social Care lawyer for the Adults social care, Employment, and Education team at HB Public Law (HBPL).

You will undertake varied, high-quality work with like-minded and supportive colleagues who are committed to public service and excellent client care.

HB Public Law is one of the country’s leading shared local authority legal practices between a number of Northwest London and out of London boroughs; it is Lexcel accredited, and we pride ourselves on delivering a high-quality service.  Staff are employed by Harrow Council but work for several public sector clients.

About you

The successful candidate will be required to carry a full caseload dealing with applications in respect of DOLs and other Adult Social Care matters, including Court of Protection proceedings, S29 Mental Health Act applications, and Judicial Review proceedings. You will also be required to give advice in respect of general Care Act 2014 matters including ordinary residence, eligibility for services (NRPF included) and capacity, and Mental Health law matters .

You will be required to pick up a caseload from the outset.  We will consider less experienced individuals with the right personal qualities and an excellent approach to client care who are able to grow into the role.  Candidates from both the public and private sector are encouraged to apply for this position, as the practice’s current staff base is drawn from both sectors.

There will be opportunities for the right candidate to develop knowledge in the Employment and Education work within the team too.

About us
