Paralegal Officer
West Midlands
£28,760 - £30,290

The Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) is recruiting paralegal officers to support our lawyers in courts across England and Wales. We offer full training, excellent benefits and the opportunity to make a real difference in society.

About the Crown Prosecution Service
The CPS is responsible for delivering justice through the independent and effective prosecution of crime. As the principal prosecuting authority across England and Wales, the nature and diversity of cases we advise on and prosecute means our work is often emotionally challenging and complex. As such we employ over 7,000 individuals who think objectively, act professionally, show the upmost respect for others and continually strive for excellence.

About the role
As a paralegal officer you’re on the front line of our service, supporting prosecution teams in the magistrates’ and Crown Court. You manage casework throughout the criminal justice process - preparing evidence, completing legal applications and providing practical support to victims and witnesses. You also represent the CPS in meetings with partner agencies including the police, probation service and judiciary.

About you
If you’re committed to public service and want to make a difference in people’s lives, this opportunity is for you. You don’t need legal experience – we provide full paralegal training to help you succeed in your role. If you’re keen to develop your knowledge of the criminal justice system and have excellent time management and customer service skills, we’d like to hear from you.

About our benefits
