We are seeking an experienced data protection professional with strong knowledge of consumer data to become the DPO of a major global hospitality brand. Overseeing the UK & Ireland's data privacy function, the successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the business adheres to privacy guidelines and policies from their London HQ.

Description

The DPO UK & Ireland will be an integral part of the business. They will provide strategic insight into the development of the framework, education of the business and ensure that they are fully compliant.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Provide guidance on the company's privacy matters and ensure compliance with data protection laws and regulations.
  • Develop and implement the data protection framework for UK & Ireland whilst liaising with the global privacy heads.
  • Audit the function.
  • Draft, develop & implement policies and regulations.
  • Build a relationship with and liaise with the ICO.
  • Build internal relationships to adequately train personnel on data protection.
  • Work closely with the marketing team on use of personal data for marketing purposes - with a real focus on AdTech, MarTech & behavioural targeting.
  • Coordinate with various departments to ensure legal compliance across the company's operations.

Profile

A successful DPO UK & Ireland should have:

  • A degree in Law or a relevant field.
  • Hold a relevant privacy qualification (eg CIPPE)
  • Proven experience in a similar role with a focus on consumer data.
  • Strong knowledge of UK data protection laws and GDPR
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of data use for marketing will be vital.
