Opportunity to join a small Birmingham law firm in their Porperty department.

Client Details

A long established private practice in the Midlands.

Description

This is a role within the Property department of a Birmingham law firm. You will be assisting a Partner on commercial property matters including:

  • landlord and tenant matters
  • acquisitions and disposals
  • some development work
  • lease extensions
  • s42 notices
  • post completion admin
  • client onboarding
  • ad hoc day to day property matters

The firm is a small practice so this would suit a Paralegal who wants to work in a close knit environment. The role will not suit somebody who wants to work in a large regional, national or international law firm.

What the firm can offer you:

  • hybrid working (on successful completion of probation period)
  • a good work/life balance - typical hours would be 9-5
  • training and development from the senior property lawyer
  • no time recording
  • progression opportunities - they are happy to discuss this at interview. Whilst you will not be given a training contract (or similar) immediately, they are passionate about developing their team's careers. Many of the Partners started as Paralegals themselves. This role would suit somebody who can see the long term picture rather than expecting a training contract (or similar) from day one.
  • friendly working environment - very different to a big law firm culture
  • a busy caseload and the opportunity to run your own matters with supervision

Profile

The team is busy and therefore need somebody who can demonstrate experience within a commercial property department. This role would not be suitable for law graduates or those looking to change areas of law. It's likely that you will have at least 12 months' experience in commercial property.

The firm is happy to hear from Paralegals at the larger Birmingham law firms who are looking to work in a different environment.

Job Offer

Long term career prospects and excellent quality property work.
