Our client is a well-established and innovative City firm with a client base ranging from entrepreneurs and start-ups to well-established household brands and multinational companies drawn from financial services, technology, fashion, and professional services sectors.
The firm boasts a very highly regarded Commercial team which advises UK and international multi-nationals, household names, small and medium sized businesses, and entrepreneurs as well as trade associations on a broad range matters in respect of commercial agreements and business relationships.
The team has a particular focus on the Fashion and Technology sector, and prides themselves on their deep industry knowledge and understanding, which enables them to provide clients with advice which is always commercial, up-to-date, and pragmatic. They have significant experience in assisting clients enter new markets, or introducing new products to old markets, and enabling clients from varying different sectors to structure their businesses efficiently, and launch or expand their businesses domestically and internationally.
The team is now looking for an additional Senior Associate lawyer to assist in advising this loyal client base on a range of matters including:
- Drafting, negotiating, and advising on a wide range of commercial agreements (business to business and business to consumer) many of which will have an international element;
- Agency agreements and advice to agents and principals subject to the Commercial Agents Regulations;
- Distributorship agreements;
- Drafting and advising in relation to online platforms, website terms and conditions for static or transactional websites, and social media sites or mobile apps;
- Non-contentious intellectual property: licensing, franchising, ownership and protection of IP in the context of commercial agreements; and
- Pre-litigation advice.
Given the position's seniority within the firm it would also be expected that the successful candidate will be able and willing to actively engage in business development, and provide and attend training where required.
In order to be considered for this position you will be a seasoned Commercial/Technology lawyer. You will most likely have:
- Training and PQE (probably at least six years') gained from a City, International, or high quality regional firm;
- A common sense, down-to-earth approach;
- Commerciality and the ability to work in a sometimes fast-paced, intellectually challenging environment; and
- The ability to deal with clients and colleagues in a relaxed and confident manner;
