Locum Commercial Property Solicitor

I am looking for a qualified Solicitor, specialising in Commercial Property, to provide ongoing cover for a fantastic high-street firm in Basingstoke whilst they recruit for a permanent solicitor. The ideal candidate will be 4-6 years PQE, able to work independently with minimal supervision, and experienced with manging a caseload of Commercial Property transactions which are mainly lease negotiations and property sales/purchases.

The Role

• To start from the 7th of October 2024
• Ongoing (approx. 3 months)
• Full-time role
• Hybrid working pattern available

Primary Duties

• To work in conjunction with the Head of Commercial Real Estate team (CRE) in dealing with the Commercial Property workload and to support them in the development of commercial and other suitable work for the team.

• Initially to take on the existing caseload comprising primarily commercial property and commercial support matters. There will be an occasional need to deal with residential matters that are associated with CRE clients.

• To be able to work with only minimal supervision from the Head of CRE.

• To be comfortable in being able to deal with all aspects of general commercial property work including title investigations, search reports negotiation of contracts and leases, licences and ancillary documents and dealing with option and overage agreements.

• To assist the Head of CRE with the delegation of work to and supervision of a junior fee earner or trainee solicitor.

• To uphold the high standards set by the firm and the CRE team by producing high quality legal support for clients.
