Position: Commercial Lawyer
Location: Bristol
Role: Hybrid

An international Legal 100 firm is looking to recruit into their national commercial team. They advise FTSE 100/250 clients, public sector bodies, and educational institutions on high-profile projects and regulatory matters, driving client growth. As one of the largest teams of its kind, they specialise in sectors such as advanced manufacturing, life sciences, aerospace, energy, transport, and international trade. Their lawyers, including nationally recognised leaders, work across UK offices and with US colleagues and on international projects.

The Team
They advise on all contractual arrangements for strategic projects and daily business across various industries, with a focus on advanced manufacturing, from major process plants to specialised life sciences supply chains. Their expertise includes procurement, supply chain management, product development, and market access, with involvement in energy transition, decarbonisation, and productivity initiatives.
You'll engage in contract strategy, drafting, negotiation, some data protection (with privacy support), and risk management, working with a diverse team that values creativity and collaboration. You’ll collaborate with in-house legal teams, providing in-house-style support to businesses without internal lawyers, alongside colleagues with extensive industry experience.

You'll contribute to work on multi-jurisdictional projects, supporting large-scale industrial clients and growing SMEs, helping clients expand into new markets, especially in the USA and Saudi Arabia, with opportunities for international secondments.

You
Minimum of 3PQE in commercial contracts from a City, large regional firm, or in-house role. The team works with international clients, so import/export experience is advantageous. Experience in tech, IP, and data protection is beneficial but not required. Strong drafting and communication skills, enthusiasm for the area, and a commitment to excellent client service are essential.
Proven experience in a commercial environment, with practical application of contract law from a City, large regional firm, or suitable in-house position.
Expertise in complex transactions, including supply chain management, procurement, R&D, and the supply of goods/services through various sales channels.

Why?
Recognised as one of the best firms when it comes to team culture, diversity and inclusion, and retaining consistent high quality work with a very health work/life balance, this firm is the perfect balance for those wanting to excel in their career whilst benefiting from a generous package (amongst the highest outside of London)
