Salary: £50,512 - £53,584 per annum (+ £3,203 annual car allowance + £4,000 market supplement per annum)

Working: Hybrid (2 days on-site)

About the Senior Contracts & Procurement Lawyer Role:

Sellick Partnership is proud to be working with an exceptional legal services team in the heart of Bedfordshire. We are looking for a Senior Contracts & Procurement Lawyer to join the commercial legal team at Luton Borough Council to provide advice and representation to the Council in all areas of Contracts & Procurement law.

Luton Borough Council has a wealth of experience gained through many years of advising their clients in local government, the public sector, charities, and schools. The team provide a wide range of legal services, delivered by specialist lawyers who understand the local government context and priorities. Key Responsibilities of the Senior Contracts & Procurement Lawyer role:

The role will involve delivering comprehensive professional legal advice to the various council departments on a range of complex commercial matters, procurement matters and bespoke commercial arrangements. You will manage a portfolio of your own cases which will consist of, but not limited to:

  • To act as a legal advisor to the client organisations
  • Act as legal lead on various significant procurements e. libraries, sexual health, supported living, advertising concession, waste disposal
  • Draft a variety of contracts on behalf of clients including general terms and conditions, grant funding agreements, inter-agency agreements, framework agreements, collaboration agreements, NHS funding agreements, etc
  • Act as legal lead on multi-authority procurements for the likes of traffic maintenance

Ideal requirements for the Senior Contracts & Procurement Lawyer role will include:

You will need to be a qualified Solicitor, barrister or FCILEx with 6 years+ PQE to apply but we are open minded to speaking with candidates of all commercial backgrounds.
