This leading offshore law firm is looking for an experienced regulatory lawyer to join its acclaimed Cayman Islands team, taking on a full range of non-contentious and some contentious regulatory work across the banking and financial services sector. Supporting colleagues and clients throughout the firm’s core jurisdictions, this is an opportunity to build experience at the cutting edge of offshore law. You can expect to play a key role in what is a fast-growing practice area, taking a lead on matters and contributing fully to business development.
The Cayman Islands
A world-class international financial centre, Grand Cayman offers lawyers the opportunity to do high-quality and complex work that compares favourably with that in a leading onshore law firm. Outside of work, the climate lends itself to an outdoors lifestyle whether that be diving, sailing, relaxing on the beach or enjoying a bite to eat at a waterfront restaurant. Life here is good; rarely does anyone regret making the move.
Process
Interviews will take place by videoconference with start dates typically around 4-6 months later (depending on your notice period). Our clients provide comprehensive assistance with visas and relocation.
Package
Highly attractive tax-free salary dependent on experience. Comprehensive benefits, bonus, and relocation package (flights + temporary accommodation on arrival + expenses allowance)
Requirements
To secure a work permit for the Cayman Islands you will need to be admitted as a Barrister or Solicitor in the UK or an equivalent Commonwealth jurisdiction (such as Australia, New Zealand or Canada). This role is expected to suit someone with at least 5 years’ relevant PQE; a comprehensive grasp of regulatory law across the banking and financial services sector will be required. Prior experience of offshore financial services would be valuable but is not essential.
Origin Legal International
Our team has 25 years’ experience of helping lawyers to make international and offshore moves. If you would like to find out more about this role or chat about an overseas move in general, please get in touch.
