Our client, a leading law firm, are seeking to recruit a solicitor with 1-3 years PQE (or more) to join their London team. The role involves managing your own caseload, which will include a variety of housing and leasehold management matters, property litigation (such as injunctions, possession claims, disrepair cases, and service charge disputes), cases before the First-tier Tribunal (FTT), and non-contentious work, such as providing policy advice.
This position offers an excellent opportunity to join a thriving and successful team in an area of law that is constantly evolving. While experience in housing management is essential, candidates are not expected to have expertise in every case type listed. Additionally, although not required, experience in areas such as compliance with the Equality Act 2010, CQC regulations, housing benefit determinations, and adult safeguarding or mental capacity matters would be highly desirable.
The ideal candidate will have strong technical skills, excellent case management abilities, and a passion for building client relationships. They should also demonstrate enthusiasm, commercial awareness, and a proactive approach.
Key Responsibilities:
• Managing a caseload independently.
• Supporting partners on larger, more complex matters.
• Interacting directly with clients, managing expectations, and meeting deadlines.
• Assisting in the supervision and mentoring of junior staff.
• Managing multiple deadlines across a range of cases simultaneously.
• Participating in marketing and business development activities in a client-focused manner.
• Preparing and delivering training to clients.
Skills and Experience Required:
Essential:
• 1-3 years PQE in housing, leasehold management, and/or property litigation.
• Experience managing your own caseload and files.
• Strong IT skills, including proficiency with Word, Excel, Outlook, and internet-based tools.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey clear and concise information.
• Strong attention to detail, resilience, and determination to achieve positive outcomes.
• Commercial awareness and the ability to prioritise workloads effectively.
Desirable:
• Experience advising on compliance with the Equality Act 2010, CQC regulations, housing benefit determinations, adult safeguarding, or mental capacity issues.
Applicants must be fully available for interview. This is a hybrid role that requires a minimum of 2 days in the office.
