The successful Legal Counsel, EMEA will provide robust legal support and guidance across the EMEA region for a highly regarded Technology Business. The role includes managing a range of legal matters, ensuring compliance, and providing strategic legal advice.

Description

  • Provide Legal support to the Sales teams to enable them to conclude licensing, services and other commercial contracts, including conducting negotiations with customers and their legal advisors.
  • Collaborate with and coordinate closely with other members of the Legal, Sales, HR, Procurement and Marketing teams, and manage outside counsel, to drive desired outcomes.
  • Assist in handling disputes, litigation, and questions relating to intellectual property and IT ownership.
  • Partner with and manage our obligations to, our distributors and other ecosystem partners.
  • Manage employee processes to ensure compliance with our code of business conduct and related policies, and provide training to staff on best practice in compliance matters.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally and globally to anticipate and assess emerging legal risk areas across the company, resolve issues and mitigate risks.
  • Prepare reports for our executive management team, board and board committees regarding contract escalations and the operation and status of our compliance programs.

Profile

A successful Legal Counsel should have:

  • 0-3 years of commercial/IT/IP legal and compliance experience
  • In-house legal experience is a plus.
  • Current practising certificate in the UK.

  • A goal-oriented team player with excellent strategic and communication skills, including the ability to explain complex legal issues to non-lawyers.
