A leading legal firm is looking for an experienced Head of Family Law to establish and lead a new Family Law Division. This is a unique opportunity to shape a department from the ground up, provide expert legal services, and drive growth within a supportive and high-achieving environment, in either the Cardiff or Bristol office

Key Responsibilities:

  • Build and lead a new Family Law team, creating a collaborative and high-performance culture.
  • Provide expert legal advice on divorce, child custody, financial settlements, and domestic violence matters.
  • Develop strategies to enhance service offerings and expand the client base.
  • Represent clients in negotiations, mediations, and court proceedings.
  • Keep up-to-date with changes in family law legislation and best practices.
  • Mentor junior staff and promote professional development within the team.
  • Manage departmental budgets to align with financial targets.

Key Requirements:

 

  • Qualified solicitor with substantial experience in family law.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Proven track record in client relationship management and business development.
  • Excellent negotiation and communication abilities.
  • Ability to handle sensitive matters with professionalism and empathy.
  • Experience with mediation and collaborative law practices is a plus.
