An international law firm is looking for a Risk Lawyer to support the Risk & Compliance team on legal, ethical, and regulatory matters globally. This is a dedicated and agile team committed to taking a hands-on approach to a range of tasks.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with queries on professional standards, conduct, ethics, conflicts, scams, contracts, and business continuity.
- Update the Professional Standards Manual regularly.
- Draft policies and procedures reflecting regulatory changes across jurisdictions.
- Draft, review, and negotiate terms with counsel, foreign lawyers, and experts.
- Maintain and update the risk register.
- Resolve escalated conflicts queries.
- Advise on anti-money laundering and sanctions.
- Perform other ad hoc duties as needed.
Key Skills & Experience
- Qualified lawyer with 5+ years' PQE
- At least 2 years' compliance experience in an international firm
- Strong knowledge of the SRA Handbook, anti-money laundering, and sanctions rules.
- Excellent drafting, organizational, and IT skills.
- Strong communicator with discretion and diplomacy.
- Training experience or handling claims/complaints is a plus.
