This role offers an exciting opportunity to oversee critical areas such as onboarding, AML, CDD, and accreditations, all while driving best practices across the firm.

The Role
As the Compliance Officer, you will play a pivotal role in maintaining and enhancing the firm’s compliance framework. Working across multiple departments, you’ll ensure adherence to regulatory standards and best practices.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the firm’s AML and client due diligence (CDD) processes to ensure compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Take ownership of the onboarding process, ensuring all new client procedures meet compliance standards.
  • Manage the preparation, monitoring, and maintenance of the firm’s accreditations, including Lexcel and CQS.
  • Lead the development, implementation, and review of the firm’s compliance policies and procedures.
  • Provide training and support to teams across the firm, ensuring compliance awareness at all levels.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for regulatory bodies and external auditors.
  • Proactively monitor risks and implement strategies to mitigate them.
About You
We’re looking for a driven and detail-oriented compliance professional who can lead from the front and inspire confidence across the firm. Ideally a qualified England and Wales Solicitor, with experience managing a law firms compliance function. Candidates with a clear demonstrated background in legal compliance not qualified will also be considered.

Skills & Experience:
  • A strong background in compliance or risk management, ideally within the legal sector.
  • In-depth knowledge of AML, CDD, and regulatory frameworks relevant to law firms.
  • Familiarity with managing Lexcel, CQS, or similar accreditations.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to influence and engage at all levels.
  • A proactive and solution-oriented approach to risk and compliance challenges.
  • Experience in training and guiding teams on compliance best practices.
What’s in It for You?
  • Competitive Salary: Starting at £65k+ depending on experience.
  • Flexible & Hybrid Working: Enjoy a mix of office-based and remote work (3 days in-office, 2 days remote).
  • Pension Scheme: Secure your future with an excellent pension offering.
  • Generous Holiday Package: Take advantage of a great holiday allowance to balance work and life.
  • Career Growth: Lead the compliance function at a highly respected firm, with opportunities to expand your expertise.
Why Joi?
This is your chance to step into a leadership role at a thriving Legal 500 firm that’s renowned for its excellence across multiple practice areas. You’ll have the opportunity to shape the firm’s compliance culture, work alongside supportive colleagues, and make a significant impact in a pivotal role.
