An exciting opportunity has arisen with our client, a growing Commercial Employment team based in Liverpool. They are looking for a technically excellent junior to mid-level employment lawyer who is ambitious and eager to take on a mix of general advisory work, employment-related litigation (respondent work), and transactional employment law matters, particularly the employment aspects of M&A transactions. This role offers significant client responsibility and exposure while working within a supportive team environment. The successful candidate will be mentored by a senior team member to aid in their professional development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide legal advice to a broad range of clients, including company owners, managers, HR professionals, in-house lawyers, private sector organisations, and senior employees/executives on various employment matters.
- Manage a well-balanced caseload of both contentious and non-contentious employment issues.
- Handle various employment law matters, including drafting employment documents, advising on maternity and paternity rights, discrimination, whistleblowing, employee relations, disciplinary matters, grievances, mediation, dismissals, redundancy, TUPE, and employment tribunal claims.
- Provide transactional support, particularly on employment-related aspects of M&A transactions.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships.
- Contribute to business development initiatives and help grow the practice.
Essential Criteria:
- Qualified Solicitor or equivalent.
Desirable Skills and Experience:
- Corporate support experience within an employment commercial team.
- Proven ability to manage a caseload and provide sound commercial advice.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks and work under pressure.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Adherence to guidelines and procedures.
- Understanding of clients' needs and expectations.
- Flexibility and willingness to work outside normal office hours when required.
