Moving offshore won’t change everything. Bermuda is a beautiful laid-back island, but it is also a global financial centre, and this firm is doing high-quality work.

The team is busy and growing. It is looking for an experienced banking and finance lawyer for a role that will suit someone who thrives on the cut and thrust of high-value cross-border work, and who is ambitious for their career. It will also suit someone who when they switch off (and that may well be a bit earlier than you are used to), wants something different out of life. You can expect a highly attractive salary and plenty of scope to quickly build your experience and contact book.   

Bermuda

Bermuda offers you the opportunity to live and work in one of the world’s most desirable locations. The island benefits from a mild year-round climate, never too cold in the winter and rarely too hot in the summer. It is famed for its picture-postcard pink sand beaches and crystal-clear ocean, but it also has plenty of history and boasts all the attractions associated with a luxury holiday destination. And if you should need a break from island life, with regular direct flights to London, New York and other parts of the US, it is particularly well connected.

Process

Interviews will take place by videoconference with start dates typically around 4-6 months later (depending on your notice period). Our clients provide comprehensive assistance with visas and relocation. 

Package

Highly competitive salary (expected to be in the range of USD150k-USD180k), low tax rate. Comprehensive benefits, bonus, and relocation package (flights + temporary accommodation on arrival + expenses allowance).

Requirements

To secure a work permit for Bermuda you will need to be admitted in the UK or an equivalent Commonwealth jurisdiction (such as Australia, New Zealand, Canada or South Africa) and have at least three years’ post-qualification experience. Strong general banking and finance experience would be ideal but lawyers with specialist experience (e.g. structured, leveraged, asset finance) who are happy to take on a broader workload, would also be a good fit.
