Environmental Solicitor/Barrister 2+ years’ PQE/Call CAMBRIDGE

Well-regarded law firm in Cambridge is looking to recruit an Environmental Solicitor or Barrister of 2 or more years’ PQE/Call. The team deals with a wide range of Environmental work, including complex, high value and high-profile matters and the role will focus on delivering high quality environmental law advice to a varied client base and will include: waste management; environmental permitting; contaminated land; statutory nuisance; and, habitats and nature conservation. They provide support to other teams with advice and due diligence work as well as carrying out free standing environmental work for a range of clients. The successful candidate will provide professional, proactive, high level legal support to an allocated group of fee earners and to the wider fee earning team. Although the focus is on environmental law, any experience of planning law would be beneficial, but it is acknowledged that both these areas are not only broad and wide-ranging but also complex and detailed and, as such, many candidates may only have experience of environmental law. A willingness to learn about planning law and the planning system so far as it is relevant to the environmental work would be required but previous planning experience is definitely not essential. You will also be expected to assist with the business development activities of the team and the wider firm.
