Merseyside Industrials business seeks Solicitor for a global Compliance Counsel position. This interesting and exciting opportunity encompasses many forms of legal and regulatory compliance, as well as general commercial matters.

Our client is a global manufacturing and industrials company that services customers in multiple sectors and focuses on bringing to market innovative new technologies and products.

Supporting, advising and protecting the company is a dedicated in-house Legal & Compliance function made up of experienced in-house counsel and compliance specialists. Integral to the company's success, the Legal & Compliance team is a valued and respected function within the organisation.


Compliance Counsel role:

To support the Legal & Compliance department in the provision of its services, our client seeks to recruit a Compliance Counsel on a permanent and full-time basis. This is a new role that has been created due to growth and a need for additional resource to support business operations across the globe.

This role provides an excellent opportunity to gain skills, knowledge and experience in areas of law and regulation that are becoming increasingly commonplace in industry, and you will be right at the "pointy end" of the law working on interesting and ever changing matters on a global basis.

Specific duties and area of responsibility include: Anti-bribery; Anti-corruption; Data Protection; Trade Sanctions; Corporate Governance; Export Control; Modern Slavery; supporting on Joint Ventures; Commercial Contracts; drafting and writing policy; training and up-skilling stakeholders; plus other ad hoc matters.

Our client doesn't expect you to have all of the above knowledge and experience however you should be keen to learn.

Person:

The hiring manager is looking to hire a qualified solicitor with experience and/or interest in legal and regulatory compliance.

Individuals with compliance and/or regulatory, corporate, commercial or commercial litigation experience are particularly attractive however our client will consider applications from solicitors with other commercial experience. Existing in-house experience is advantageous, particularly if gained in manufacturing or industry, however it is not essential.

This is a unique organisation and full training will be provided. If you aspire to work in-house on cutting edge matters on a global basis, and you would like to learn more about legal compliance in industry, then this role is worth serious consideration.


Location:

Our client's offices are easily accessible and commutable by car from many parts of Merseyside and Cheshire, plus hybrid working (3 days office / 2 days home) is also available.
