Senior Legal Counsel Job - Part-Time/21 hours - Swindon/Home Working - 12% Pension + Car allowance

Your new company
This well-known brand has a rare opportunity for a Senior Legal Advisor with commercial and insurance experience to join their team on a part-time basis; this is an ideal role if you are looking for a company that appreciates flexible working and identifying the best talent with a real commitment to customer satisfaction. The role will be based in Swindon; however, our client wants the best people for their roles and will consider home working for the right candidate. This is an important role for them and they are committed to completing a remote recruitment process and onboarding during COVID-19. The role will be 21 hours per week and could also be spread over 4 or 5 days if you wished.

Your new role
As Senior Legal Advisor you will be providing a full range of legal advice to the business. Duties will include providing legal advice and drafting distribution deals with Intermediaries and MGAs (TOBAs, DAAs, Co-insurance arrangements, Partnerships and MGA arrangements) and providing a full range of routine legal advice on existing and new commercial arrangements and distribution deals, including where relevant, competition law, data protection, IP and general commercial contract advice. You will liaise with stakeholders at all levels within the organisation up to Board level and must be able to handle a busy caseload, proactively detecting and resolving material legal and regulatory issues.

What you'll need to succeed
You will be a qualified lawyer in England and Wales with a minimum 6 years PQE, with at least 4 of these years in a non-contentious commercial role. It is expected that you will have in-house experience in a financial services environment, ideally with an Insurer or Insurance Intermediary and knowledge of the regulatory landscape in which Insurers operate. Experience or exposure to Competition law, data protection experience and Intellectual property experience, as well as experience in insurance distribution work would be desirable but not essential. You will be a real team player and will be able to manage relationships at all levels of the business. You should be proactive and passionate about your work and not be afraid to voice your opinions and help bring about change.

What's in it for you
This is a great opportunity if you are looking for the next step up in your career and a very rare part-time in-house role. Our client offer an excellent benefits package, including annual bonuses, 12% pension scheme and a car allowance, and are committed to continuous improvement; they will offer you access to a comprehensive range of training and development opportunities. This is an opportunity with a first-class company offering flexible working and a high-quality collaborative team environment. Please contact Harriet Chapman at Hays Legal for further information.
