Your new company
This business-to-business solutions provider, based in Manchester, has an established client base in the financial services sector. Following a strategic decision to appoint a dedicated company secretary for the UK group companies and its subsidiaries, this organisation has engaged with Hays Legal to shortlist ICSA qualified / part-qualified company secretaries for this newly created role.

Your new role
This is a part-time role reporting into the General Counsel and would suit an experienced company secretary with solid board support skills looking for a flexible working pattern. You will be taking over the company secretarial duties from the parent company secretariat. As a corporate governance champion, you will provide high quality advice to senior stakeholders, directors and board members. You will be responsible for corporate administration and corporate compliance including filings with Companies House and maintaining registers. This could also be an opportunity for a qualified corporate lawyer looking to pursue a career in the company secretarial field.

What you'll need to succeed
You must have company secretarial experience, ideally in financial services, with solid board support experience including preparation of board packs, agendas and minutes as you will be supporting various board and committee meetings. You will need to be flexible to travel to London for board meetings once travel restrictions ease. A strong understanding of corporate governance and best practice is essential as you will be responsible for maintaining high standards across the group. You will either be ICSA qualified or working towards qualification; qualified lawyers with relevant experience will also be considered.

What you'll get in return
You will work 21 hours a week or 3 days a week and will need to be flexible to accommodate scheduled board meetings including future travel to London. The salary will be negotiable depending on experience and there is also an attractive benefits package. You will join a supportive employer in a professional working environment where you will establish your role in a newly created position.
