Your new company
A smaller sized Housing Association with under 500 staff, managing more than 5,000 homes.

Your new role
Governance Officer ensuring that the company fulfils its statutory corporate obligations, and that the organisation has satisfactory oversight, governance and accountability frameworks which are reported to Executive Team and Board as appropriate.

  • Implementation and management of an annual corporate governance schedule for the Housing Association, including oversight of filings and corporate returns;
  • Liaising with the internal auditors on the programme of audits and ensuring colleagues are supplied with first drafts of documents;
  • Maintaining the internal audit tracker and update of management actions, and liaising with colleagues for effective responses to the tracker and updating the same;
  • Providing administrative support to the Board, Executive Team (as required) and Executive Director for Finance and acting as a point of cover for the Executive Coordinator
  • Supporting and deputising for the Head of Risk and Governance with the management, oversight and secretariat for the Board and its Committees;
  • Monitoring governance and regulatory compliance, identifying and reporting on areas of concern to the Head of Risk and Governance;

What you'll need to succeed
To succeed in this role you will need to have a high attention-to-detail, be extremely organised, have knowledge of audit and regulations and have the ability to build strong relations with senior stakeholders, the Board and internal members. You will be measured on:

  • Timely delivery of and reporting on internal audit and compliance to Audit and Risk Committee;
  • Key governance KPIs met;
  • Filings and corporate returns completed on time;
  • Completion of required Regulatory returns and maintenance of G1 rating with the Regulator for Social Housing;
  • Effective management and oversight of self-service insurance process;
  • Key projects delivered on time and to scope.
