Their global practice is integrated across their offices in Europe, the Middle East, Asia, Australia and North America delivering consistently high levels of service across borders and locally through a deep understanding of local business customs and culture.

The Department
The firms dispute resolution lawyers regularly represent clients in large scale, cross-border and complex commercial matters, and manage cases through to trial/final hearing and appeal where necessary. The dispute resolution team focuses on the firm's core sectors, with a mix of dedicated sector specialists and lawyers with a wider range of experiences. Experienced in acting for a truly global client base, their lawyers have deep and broad experience of the complex issues that arise in cross-border matters - be they jurisdictional, choice of law, procedural or evidential. Their global team operates across their international offices and supports clients wherever they have a dispute. They frequently provide strategic advice in relation to different laws and procedural rules, whether in courts or arbitration.

The Ideal Candidate

  • have good experience of maritime disputes and understand the sector;
  • have excellent academic qualifications;
  • are bright and ambitious;
  • have proven legal and technical skills in dispute resolution and related transactions;
  • fit into the Firm's culture of being dynamic, enterprising, creative, cosmopolitan and hard-working.


Skills and experience

  • Experience of LMAA Arbitration including drafting submissions;
  • Experience of UK High Court proceedings;
  • Experience of instructing lawyers outside the UK for arrest of ships;
  • Experience in carriage of goods disputes including Charterparties, Bills of Lading, and COAs.
