The Company:

Our client is an international firm with a track record of providing corporate, finance and funds advice to global corporations, financial institutions, capital markets participants and investment fund managers. These include Fortune 100 and FTSE 100 companies, as well as some of the most innovative firms across the financial markets.

The firm's London office has grown substantially over the past 3-5 years and, having assisted with the most recent hire into this team from a US law firm, they have built an enviable client base including many of the world's leading corporations, both domestically and internationally. This has resulted in the team achieving Tier 1 rankings for finance and a reputation as one of the pre-eminent practices globally.

The Role:

The role will involve:

  • Advising on cross-border banking and finance transactions across a range of product areas;
  • Supporting senior counsel and partners across a range of client matters;
  • Assisting with a range of asset, fund, leveraged, maritime, project, real estate, structured and trade finance transactions, as well as financial restructuring and DCM transactions;
  • Proactively assisting with business development and expanding existing client relationships, through domestic and international travel.

Recent Transactions

  • Representing a global energy company on its leveraged acquisition of oil fields in a transaction worth over £1bn;
  • Acting in connection with a £50bn secured debt issuance programme;
  • Acting for the financing parties on a $2bn finance facility and £900m capital market bond issues in connection with a PE acquisition of a global advisory firm;
  • Acting on the £1 debt restructuring of one of the UK's largest healthcare groups;
  • Acting for a sovereign wealth fund on the acquisition of a portfolio of 40+ landmark hotels managed by a leading international hotel brand;
  • Acting for joint lead arrangers on a $2bn facility to a NYSE listed company with global interests in the retail sector.

About You:

You will have:

  • 3-7PQE with excellent academics and a minimum of a 2:1 from a leading institution;
  • Relevant cross-border banking and finance experience from a leading international law firm;
  • Experience of taking a leading role on transactions (preferable);
  • Strong analytical, interpersonal and organisation skills with a strong client focus and the willingness to be involved in business development.

In return, our client will offer a relatively good work/life balance with exposure to some of the most high-profile and innovative transactions in the market.
