Associate Legal Counsel - 14mth contract (PAYE only)

Global software business looking to hire two Legal Counsels with a commercial & technology background, to cover maternity leave - 14 months contracts.

About the Role

Working as part of an international team with a great culture, the Legal Counsel will have the opportunity to get involved in a broad remit of work including:

• Drafting, negotiating and advising on a range of commercial agreements including sales contracts, software licenses, consulting and reseller agreements
• Involvement in high-value deals with a range of clients across a variety of sectors
• Partnering with the sales team to advise on all aspects of contractual negotiations
• Liaising with other departments such as marketing, finance and procurements to advise on wide-ranging legal matters
• Managing relationships with external counsel

About You

The client will look at candidates from 1PQE upwards but applications from all levels will be considered on merit.

You will be a qualified lawyer (foreign qualified welcome to apply) with previous experience of drafting, negotiating and advising on a range of commercial agreements. Whilst it would be advantageous for your to have previously worked on IT contracts, it is not absolutely essential and this can be viewed as an opportunity for a commercial lawyer who is looking to gain some more experience in technology matters.

You will require a pragmatic approach to your work and be able to think creatively in order to get deals across the line. Relationship-building skills within the business are also very important to succeed in this role.

You will need to be available to start this role by the end of March at the latest.

The company's offices are in Berkshire but they are currently working remotely. As and when the pandemic is over, a sensible approach will be taken towards remote working.
