An international energy venture backed by a multi-million pound organisation, requires the services of a Senior Legal Counsel on the basis of a 12-month maternity cover contract. This role is based in Central London. The current expectation is that 3 days/week would be spent in the office.

About the Role

  • Providing advice and support to the Operations and Maintenance Team and the Commercial Team in the management of ongoing O&M and EPC contract arrangements
  • Drafting, reviewing and negotiating commercial agreements including supplier agreements, agreements governing the delivery and maintenance of the company's IT systems and services, consultancy agreements, agreements with energy trading companies
  • Providing legal support in relation to agreements necessary for the auction and sale of infrastructure capacity
  • Assisting the Head of Legal with company secretarial matters
  • Liaising with the wider business to provide ad-hoc legal advice
  • Assisting with the management of external legal counsel and management of ongoing disputes and litigation
  • Assisting with the management of confidential information and intellectual property, compliance, and management of existing/future third party supplier T&Cs

About You

This position requires someone with at least 4 years' PQE although applications from all levels will be considered on merit. Ideally you will have trained and qualified at a respected law firm, and then gone on to gain some in-house experience. Any background in the energy sector would be considered advantageous but by no means essential. Applications from other Commonwealth jurisdictions such as Australia and New Zealand are welcomed.

The successful candidate will be an accomplished commercial lawyer who also possess experience with construction matters.

You must be available to commence this role by mid-October at the latest.
