A Local Authority based in Hertfordshire are seeking a Planning Lawyer to join their team on either a Full time or Part Time basis for an initial 3 months period with the view for extension. The council are offering fully remote working due to the current circumstances for the foreseeable future.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Planning Lawyer to join a friendly and supportive team. The Planning Lawyer will be undertaking a personal caseload of planning & highways work and providing legal advice. Further duties will include:

  • Drafting, negotiating and concluding planning and highway agreements and other legal documentation
  • Handling more complex planning agreements
  • Dealing with Section 106 agreements
  • Assisting as necessary with major development projects and attend project meetings
  • To act as an advocate where appropriate, at planning hearings, planning inquiries, etc.
  • Drafting reports to the planning and planning sub-committee
  • Dealing with Judicial Reviews

The successful Senior Planning Lawyer will be suitably qualified solicitor and will possess a sound understanding and experience of planning law. They should also possess experience of drafting complex planning agreements and giving legal advice.

A Planning lawyer with local authority experience is highly preferable, however our client is willing to consider Planning lawyers from other backgrounds with transferable skills.
