Locum Construction Contracts Lawyer

East Midlands / South East

£45 - £55 per hour

Remote Working

A popular Local Authority in the East Midlands is seeking an experienced Construction Contracts Lawyer to join their growing and supportive team. The role is advertised on a locum basis for a period of 3 - 6 months with the view to extension. Our client spans across three different offices, however, this particular post is to work as a contracts lawyer completely remotely.

The Contracts lawyer will be responsible for the delivery of all aspects of legal advice within their team, where they will be expected to build strong relationships with internal and external partners. The successful candidate will be responsible for taking on construction contract work worth millions in capital across multiple organisations.

You will also be running your own caseload of commercial contracts matters on behalf of the service which will be for a number of different clients.

This position will be fast-paced and it is therefore imperative that the contracts lawyer is confident in handling a full caseload consisting of, but not limited to, the following matters:

  • Routine and complex contract and procurement matters
  • Preparing, negotiating and advising on all aspects relating to legal projects
  • Predominantly working with JCT and construction contracts
  • Advising and negotiating Contractual agreements
  • Reviewing and managing all current contracts to comply with GDPR

The post advertised is fully remote working, however, attending the offices in the East Midlands or South East on a full or hybrid working basis is also feasible.

The client is happy to consider candidates with experience from a private practice or public sector background.

This is a great opportunity for someone that is looking to further their career with more complex contracts matters. There is also the chance to be part of some really exciting and interesting work which will include high value matters and development related work.

We encourage interested applicants to apply immediately to be considered for short listing. Alternatively should you require further information or wish to discuss your suitability before applying please contact Lewis Dainty in our Manchester office for a confidential discussion.
